Terms of Use
Revision: 2026-08-18 (August 18, 2026)
1. General provisions
Verstak is a technical online platform for users to communicate, list goods, post requests and offers, and share other information related to technical, industrial, and professional subjects.
By creating a UIN and using Verstak, the user confirms that they have been given the opportunity to review these rules and that they accept the terms of using the service.
2. UIN and account
Each account is assigned a unique UIN.
The user is solely responsible for keeping their password and trusted devices secure, and must not hand over access to their account to third parties.
The UIN is used within Verstak as the user's identifier.
Creating an ordinary Verstak account does not require providing a real name, phone number, or email address, unless that information is required for a specific feature of the service.
3. Trusted devices and message protection
Private messages in Verstak are protected with end-to-end encryption.
The account password is not a means of recovering cryptographic access.
The first device used when a new UIN is created establishes the user's initial cryptographic identity.
Additional devices must be confirmed by an existing trusted device, through the procedure the service provides for this.
If the user loses access to every trusted device, recovering their cryptographic identity -- and access to the protected data tied to it -- may be impossible.
Verstak's administration does not hold any backdoor means of recovering cryptographic keys and cannot restore a user's lost cryptographic identity.
Users are advised to keep more than one trusted device.
4. Signing out and removing a device
An ordinary sign-out ends the current session, but on its own does not remove a trusted device or its local cryptographic identity.
The "Sign out and remove this device" feature revokes that specific device and deletes the local cryptographic data tied to it.
Removing one device does not mean deleting the whole account.
Before removing the last remaining trusted device, the user must weigh the risk of irreversible loss of access.
5. Account deletion
The user may use the "Delete account permanently" feature.
Full deletion requires confirming the current password and any other confirmations the interface requires.
Account deletion is irreversible.
Once deletion succeeds:
- the account stops being valid;
- signing in with the former UIN and password becomes impossible;
- active sessions are ended;
- trusted devices are revoked;
- the account's server-side cryptographic identity is deleted or irreversibly deactivated;
- the administration does not offer restoration of a deleted account.
A deleted UIN may remain permanently reserved and will not be given to another user.
Certain technical records may be kept in an anonymized, service, or tombstone form where this is necessary for the data integrity of other users, the security of the service, or compliance with applicable requirements.
6. Private messages
The user alone determines the content of the messages they send and is responsible for the information they convey.
Private messages must not be used for:
- threats or harassment;
- fraud;
- mass spam;
- distributing malicious software;
- unlawfully gaining access to someone else's data;
- distributing material prohibited under applicable law.
7. Goods, requests, services, and listings
A user who posts a product, service, request, offer, or other listing is responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide.
It is prohibited to post:
- illegal goods or services;
- knowingly fraudulent offers;
- material unrelated to the service's subject matter;
- malicious or misleading links;
- material that infringes the rights of third parties;
- content prohibited under applicable law.
The administration may restrict a listing's visibility, send it for moderation, or remove material that violates the service's rules.
8. Transactions between users
Unless Verstak is expressly a party to a particular transaction, arrangements between a seller, buyer, customer, or contractor are made directly between those users.
Users are responsible for independently verifying:
- the item;
- its specifications;
- its condition;
- the price;
- the seller or counterparty;
- payment terms;
- delivery terms;
- other material circumstances of the transaction.
Posting a listing on Verstak does not, by itself, guarantee its accuracy or amount to the service administration's endorsement of the user.
9. Prohibited use
The following are prohibited:
- attempts to break into Verstak or into other users' accounts;
- circumventing security mechanisms;
- attempts to bypass the E2EE / trusted-device model;
- creating accounts for spam, fraud, or automated attacks;
- artificially generating activity, ratings, or reviews;
- interfering with the operation of the server, API, chat, or encryption systems;
- any action capable of disrupting the service for other users.
10. Moderation and access restriction
In the event of a rule violation, the administration may:
- restrict or remove a listing;
- limit specific features of the service;
- block a device;
- restrict or terminate access to an account;
- take other security measures that are technically necessary.
For serious violations, such measures may be applied without prior warning.
11. Service availability
Verstak is under active development and its features may change.
The administration works to keep the service stable and to safeguard data, but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, freedom from software errors, or the permanent availability of every feature.
Users bear the risks connected with losing a device, local data, internet access, or other components outside Verstak's control.
12. Changes to the rules
These rules may be updated as the service develops, new features appear, or applicable requirements change.
For a materially new revision, the service may require the user to confirm acceptance again.
13. Confirmation
By clicking "I have reviewed and accept," the user confirms that they were given the opportunity to review these rules before completing registration, and that they accept Verstak's terms of use.
